• Student Study Teams

Students are referred based on concerns regarding their academic development. Parents who observe issues should contact their child's teacher, the school's education specialist, or the site administrator to start a conversation. They may also request a Student Study Team (SST) meeting, where educators collaborate to pinpoint concerns and develop strategies. Members of the Student Study Team (SST) typically include teacher(s), school administrator, specialist (if applicable), and parents/guardians. These members collaborate to identify concerns, develop strategies, and monitor progress to support the student's academic and social-emotional development.

During these meetings, general education interventions may be implemented. If additional support is needed, the student might be referred for a special education assessment. Referrals can originate from parents, teachers, or other school staff who are involved with the student's education.
