Principal's Welcome

  • Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!  My name is Dr. Dannette Bryson, and I am excited to be the principal of J.E. Hester Elementary School.  As we journey into the new school year together, I look forward to building relationships with our students, staff, families, and the community of Farmersville.  I firmly believe that all students deserve a high quality 21st century education in a contagious, positive, and safe learning environment.  J.E. Hester Elementary is student-centered and committed to doing what’s best for students while instilling a “Believe it to Achieve it” mindset.

As a TK-1st grade foundational school, we are dedicated to ensure that our students develop the literacy and math skills and standards they need in order to become productive and marketable members of society.  Additionally, it is our goal to ensure that our students receive bilingual education in which students are taught literacy and content in two languages.  Proudly, J.E. Hester Elementary is embarking upon our first year of providing a dual language immersion program employing a 90/10 model of dual language instruction in kindergarten.  Kindergarten instruction is delivered in Spanish 90% of the day and English 10% of the day.  There is a gradual decrease of specifically designed Spanish instruction until 4th grade when 50% of the day is spent in each language.  Finally, we look forward to a wonderful school year!

    Thank you,
    Dr. Dannette Byson, Principal
